Eight years with one client
InvitedHome manages luxury vacation homes in mountain towns across North America. I’ve worked with them since 2018. The work started at Dojo4, moved with me to Spry Elephant, and is still going.
The software serves three very different groups of people:
- Guests book homes on the public site, invitedhome.com.
- Homeowners whose properties InvitedHome manages use the owner portal.
- InvitedHome staff run the business from an admin interface with reporting, forecasting, data sync management, and user roles and permissions.
The trickiest part lives in the admin backend: a complex data sync between Track, the third-party reservation system, and Salesforce, so staff, owners and guests are all working from the same information.
It’s a Nuxt/Vue frontend on a Ruby on Rails backend, with a REST API and MFA through Twilio and SendGrid. I’m the chief architect and project lead for a team of three or four, and we keep turnaround fast by keeping overhead low.
